Viareggio beach

Viareggio is one of the many municipalities of Versilia, in Tuscany, which has received numerous awards for its beaches for years, among these an honorable mention goes to the Blue Flag of the FEE (Foundation for environmental education) and the Green Flag for the beaches suitable for families with children. Located between Lido di Camaiore and Marina di Torre del Lago Puccini, Viareggio is a popular destination because its wide sandy shores welcome thousands of tourists of all ages and backgrounds every year. Since the 70s of the last century, this beautiful seaside town – famous for its Carnival with its colorful floats – has proven to be in step with the times and has been able to make the most of its beaches by imposing itself on the seaside tourism scene of our country . The Viareggio beach has an important feature: a fine-grained sand that is soft to the touch. A large part of the beach is given in concession to the bathing establishments, some considered to be luxury, which do not just offer their guests the equipment rental but also provide them with a SPA with massage area, swimming pools, open-air discos, fields beach volleyball and baby areas for the little ones of the family with babysitting service on the beach . It should also be noted that most of the bathing establishments on the beach of Viareggio are accessible to disabled people because they are built without architectural barriers and with walkways that reach the shoreline. The beach on Viareggio is wide and long and even the stretches of free beach are well maintained and regularly cleaned. In some periods of the year we note the presence of poseidonia on the shore. The areas where you can find the best beaches in Viareggio are 3 and are called: the Darsena, the Passeggiata and the Terrazza della Repubblica. It is also advisable to visit the naturist beach of Lecciona, in the Park of Migliarino – San Rossore. DOG-FRIENDLY : the free beach in Viale Europa is accessible to dogs regularly registered with the canine registry. Most of the Viareggio beach resorts allow access to medium-small sized dogs. To reach the beaches of Viareggio by car, you need to take the A1 motorway for those coming from the South and the A13 motorway for those coming from the North, then following the appropriate directions. With the means instead, it is possible to use national trains provided by Trenitalia to reach Viareggio.

La spiaggia del centro è tutta gestita dagli stabilimenti, per le spiagge libere bisogna andare alla Darsena oppure verso la Lecciona.
