The Torre Lapillo beach is located within the municipality of Porto Cesareo, in the province of Lecce, Puglia, in the northern end of Salento and on the Ionian coast. The town takes its name from the ancient Tower of San Tommaso, which dominates with its 17 meters high. It is a beautiful beach, long and wide, with high attendance, which has nothing to envy to the beautiful exotic beaches. The beach has the shape of an arch and extends from Torre di San Tommaso to Torre Chianca, is composed of fine white sand with cliffs, low dunes and crystal clear water, and multicolored shades ranging from turquoise to emerald green, shallow water and sandy that slopes gently, thus making it suitable for families with children . Behind the beach there is a luxuriant Mediterranean scrub where the junipers stand out with their unmistakable scent. For the beauty of the seabed and the presence of the coral reef, this beach is perfect for lovers of diving and snorkeling . The beach of Torre Lapillo is made up of stretches of free beach that alternate with stretches that host bathing establishments, so there is no lack of all the services available to bathers. Torre Lapillo beach is accessible to disabled people due to the absence of architectural barriers and the presence of a footbridge leading to the beach. After sunset, some of these beach establishments are transformed into open-air discos that enliven the Salentine nights. In the same hours the whole waterfront becomes pedestrian and becomes an open air market. In addition to the town, there is the Marina di Torre Lapillo, which is a pretty fishing village, interesting to visit for its Spanish architecture. In the marina there is the possibility to rent boats and rafts for a day at sea to explore the coast. The Torre Lapillo beach is reachable along the provincial road 340 which runs alongside this area or along the provincial road 109 continue along the state road 359.

  1. Review of Gian Gian 3.7/5 IT, 18 July 2019
