The beaches of Sorrento and the Sorrento Peninsula are very different from each other even if they are just a few kilometers apart from each other. It can be said that Sorrento satisfies more categories of users because it passes from the fine sandy beach to the rocks, from the gravel to the platforms with walkways and steps to reach the sea. Most of the beaches that fall on this stretch of coast have been repeatedly awarded the coveted Blue Flag by FEE Italia ( Foundation for environmental education ). The main beaches of Sorrento are: – the small Marina (also known as the Beach of San Francesco ): composed of black volcanic sand, both public and managed by the bathing establishments. – the Marina Grande : small beach in the ancient fishermen's village and also this one composed of volcanic sand. – the Bagni della Regina Giovanna in Capo di Sorrento: it is a small clearing with a lagoon connected to the sea, composed mainly of rocks of different sizes. The Sorrento beaches that make up the Sorrento Peninsula, also known as the Sorrento Coast, are: – Meta di Sorrento beach – Piano di Sorrento beach – Massa Lubrense beachRiviera di Massa beach – Marina di Cassano beach – Spiaggia di Cassano Vico Equense Sant'Agnello Beach
