Scala dei Turchi beach

Realmonte, AG

No reviews

The Scala dei Turchi beach is located in the territory of Realmonte, in Sicily, between Lido Rossello and Porto Empedocle . It is undoubtedly one of the most characteristic not only of the Sicilian region but of the whole national territory. The beach is composed of small beaches of golden sand and limestone cliffs, marl to be precise, of a shiny white. The sea is crystal clear and allows the practice of water sports such as snorkeling. The white of the rocky wall is dazzling on sunny days and makes the contrast with the cobalt blue of the waters even stronger. Those who love sandy beaches can relax either on the free beach or managed by the beach in the area, which offers the possibility to rent equipment such as deckchairs and umbrellas. Alternatively you can lie down directly on the white cliff that with its particular terrace conformation welcomes tourists from all over the world. A curisità: the legend tells that this stretch of coast, during the XVII century, was a landing point for the Moors (Turks) who looted the villages of the area. Due to its stepped shape and the pirate landing, it was nicknamed: Scala dei Turchi.
