The Riace Marina beach is located in the homonymous seaside resort in the province of Reggio Calabria on the east coast of Calabria, not far from one of the most famous beaches in the region: Roccella Ionica . The beach of Riace Marina is narrow and long and consists of light sand mixed with gravel and small pebbles. The sea is crystal clear, of an intense blue and with sloping bottoms that become deep at several meters from the shoreline. A curiosity: Riace is famous all over the world for the discovery of two large bronze statues found at seven meters deep around the 70s of the last century: the Riace Bronzes . The statues, depicting two warriors nicknamed the Young and the Old, were discovered during an underwater dive near the beach of Riace in the locality of Porto Forticchio, dating back to the 5th century BC and are one of the most important finds in our country.
