Porto Beach (Agropoli)

The beach of the port of Agropoli, also known as Marina beach, is located in the town of the same name in the province of Salerno, in Campania. Agropoli is one of the most well-known places in Cilento, a stretch of coast in Campania that is famous throughout the world for its pristine beaches of unparalleled beauty and the bu cobbled marine fondai that have given the whole area the nickname: Costa Bu. Also the beach of the Port of Agropoli has been awarded several times with the prestigious Blue Flag by the Foundation for environmental education although there are not many services in the immediate vicinity. The beach of the Port of Agropoli, or Marina di Agropoli, is the one closest to the city center and situated right next to the tourist port of the town from which a concrete quay separates it. The beach is small, composed of sand mixed with gravel and pebbles and often posidonias are present both in the water and on the beach. The strip of sand next to the port of Agropoli is a free beach and on it there are no generic services that can be useful to bathers such as bathrooms or public showers. However, the area appears to be very populated, especially during the summer, due to the crowded port of Agropoli and the proximity to the center. If during your stay you do not want to give up the comforts of the bathing establishments such as deckchairs, sun beds and umbrellas, perhaps it is better to move to the Lungomare San Marco, also awarded with the Blue Flag of the FEE, where there are more services for tourists. To get to the beach by car, you need to get to Agropoli via the A3 motorway and then the SS267. With the means, it is possible to arrive at the central station of Agropoli using the trains provided by Trenitalia, to then descend to sea level and reach the beach of the port.

  1. Review of Nicoletta Nicoletta 3.3/5 IT, 28 July 2019
