Maronti Beach is one of the most popular on the Island of Ischia and is the largest with its 3 km of coastline. A large part of the beach is located in the municipality of Barano d'Ischia, only a small part is part of the territory of Serra Fontana, and it is mostly granted in concession to the bathing establishments where you can rent equipment such as deckchairs, sun beds and umbrellas. The beach is protected by two headlands and is composed of large-grain sand mixed with gravel with a gray color that recalls the volcanic nature of the Island of Ischia. Maronti is easily accessible on foot or by public transport or, alternatively, you can take advantage of the island's characteristic taxi-boat service . When it comes to Ischia it is natural to talk about spas and it is right near the Maronti beach that there are some of the oldest thermal springs on the Campania region. Here, inside millennial caves, useful cures for curing rheumatism and respiratory disorders still come today. On the border with the town of Sant'Angelo there is a stretch of coast of warm sand, used since ancient times for the practice of sandblasting aimed at eliminating rheumatic ailments.
