The beach of Marina di San Nicola is located in the homonymous village in the municipality of Ladispoli, Lazio, between Palo Laziale and Marina di Palidoro. Small seaside town, born as a tourist consortium, and ideal place for those who are looking for a place to relax without having to give up comfort like the rental of equipment for the beach. The beach is narrow and about 1.5 km long, composed of fine-grained sand with a grayish color and protected by breakwater cliffs that have the task of mitigating the erosive action of the sea. The beach of Marina di San Nicola is about an hour from Rome and is frequented above all by lovers of water sports such as surfing and kitesurfing : since the 80s of the last century it has attracted surfers from all over Italy who usually meet along the coast between the Velica Association and the El Pareo plant. From the beach you can easily access, through a walk on the shoreline, the Odescalchi Castle of Palo Laziale. A curiosity: south of the beach of Marina di San Nicola, on the border with Marina di Palidoro, near the mouth of the river Statue: there are the remains of an ancient Roman residence dated around the first century BC and a proto-center urban where wonderful polychrome mosaics with geometrical and plant figures are visible. It is assumed that the entire area was owned by Gneo Pompeo Magno, for this reason it is nicknamed the Villa of Pompeo di San Nicola.
