The beach of Laurito is one of the most hidden of Positano, it is accessed via a staircase that descends from the small square in front of the Hotel San Pietro or by taxi-boat. The beach is small, looks more like a cove; the western side is mainly composed of pebbles and gravel, while the eastern side is composed of flat rocks on which it is possible to lie down and enjoy the sun. Many tourists come to the area to practice diving and water sports such as snorkeling due to the presence of numerous species of flora and fauna. A curiosity : Laurito owes its name to the massive presence of Lauro (laurel), an aromatic plant widely used in the traditional cuisine of our country.
