The beaches of Olbia are located south of the Costa Smeralda and opposite the island of Tavolara, in north-eastern Sardinia. As in the Costa Smeralda, the pink color of granite rocks prevails. The beaches of Olbia are also the busiest, as they are closer to the city and to the ferry landing for those arriving from the mainland and going to Sardinia. In the past, the Greeks called Olbia "the happy city", perhaps due to its location and the beauty of the surrounding landscape, the beaches of Olbia attract thousands of tourists from all over the world every year. Beach Punta Volpe La Punta Volpe beach can be reached from Porto Rotondo along the entire coast. The main feature of this beach is the strong contrast of colors between the ocher-colored sand, the few rocky outcrops and the emerald green of the water.
