Beaches of Monterosso al Mare
Monterosso al Mare, SP
12°
Monterosso al Mare is one of the most popular seaside resorts of the Cinque Terre National Park because, unlike the other neighboring towns, it has a large stretch of sandy beach . The beach is narrow and long and easily accessible from the city center; there are bathing establishments and a small stretch of free beach. A curiosity : on the beach of Monterosso ( Fegina beach ) there is a large statue depicting Neptune, the god of the sea, nicknamed Il Gigante . It is a reinforced concrete and iron statue built by Arrigo Minerbi of Ferrara and engineer Levacher in 1910. Unfortunately it suffered damage during the bombings of the Second World War, as well as a storm in the 1960s, which they have partly destroyed it.

Bellissima spiaggia di sabbia con mare chiaro. Si divide tra libera e a pagamento. L’unica vera spiaggia tra le 5 Terre.
