Beaches of Castellabate
Blue Flag 2019 Green Flag 2019

The beaches of Castellabate are located in the municipality of the same name in the province of Salerno, in Campania. Castellabate is a small inland town within the Cilento, Vallo di Diano and Alburni National Park and the marine hamlets that fall within its territory are part of the Santa Maria di Castellabate Marine Protected Area . The stretch of coastline where its beaches face is one of the most popular in the Cilento area, miles of fine sand interspersed with cliffs rich in flora and fauna to be admired with a mask and snorkel, an ideal place for scuba diving and the practice of water sports such as snorkeling . The beaches are narrow and long and are mostly free. Those who do not want to renounce to comforts such as deckchairs, umbrellas and sun-beds will still be able to take advantage of the possibility to rent them at the bathing establishments in the area. The cleaning of the sea and of the sandy shores are a jewel in the crown for this small town in the Salerno area, which has been awarded several times with the prestigious Blue Flag awarded each year by the Foundation for environmental education to the municipalities that have undertaken a policy of environmental respect in its own territory. The Santa Maria di Castellabate beach has also been awarded the Green Flag by Italian pediatricians for beaches suitable for families with children . The beaches of Castellabate are frequented by tourists of all ages and backgrounds with a good accommodation offer ranging from hotels, to bed and breakfasts to switch from buildings in airbnb and traditional-style campsites. Among the most important beaches of this stretch of the Cilento coast we mention: – the beach of Santa Maria di Castellabate – the beach of San Marco – the beach of Punta Licosa – the beach of Pozzillo – the beach of Punta dell'Inferno – the beach of Ogliastro Marina
